Prime Design, a Safe Fleet company, is seeking Powder Coat Hangers to join our team in Lakewood, NJ!

1st Shift (6:00am - 2:00pm)

A Powder Coat Hanger plays a crucial role in preparing items for the powder coating process. This position involves inspecting, cleaning, and hanging various items onto racks or hooks before they are powder coated. Attention to detail, organization, and adherence to safety protocols are essential for success in this role.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

Inspection:

• Examine items to be powder coated for defects, imperfections, or damage.
• Identify and report any issues to the supervisor for further action.

Cleaning and Surface Preparation:

• Clean and sand items using appropriate cleaning agents or methods.
• Ensure that surfaces are free of contaminants that could affect the powder coating process.

Hanging, Racking, Boxing Racks

• Carefully hang items onto racks or hooks in preparation for the powder coating process.
• Ensure items are properly spaced and oriented to allow for uniform coating coverage.
• Box product after coating is complete.

Quality Control:

• Inspect hung items to ensure they are correctly positioned and securely fastened.
• Verify that masking or plugging is accurately applied.
• Maintain high standards of quality and accuracy.

Safety Compliance:

• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Properly use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Team Collaboration:

• Collaborate with coworkers and other departments to ensure a smooth workflow and meet production schedules.
• Communicate effectively with the powder coating team and supervisors regarding any issues or concerns.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing or powder coating environment is preferred.
• Knowledge of basic safety procedures and the proper use of PPE.
• Attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions precisely.
• Physical dexterity and the ability to handle and hang items of various shapes and sizes.
• Good communication skills for reporting defects and issues.
• Strong organizational skills to maintain an orderly and efficient work area.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to continually bend, stretch, lift, and carry items of varying weights potentially up to 50 pounds.
• Manual dexterity and coordination for hanging items accurately and securely.
• Comfortable working in an environment that has extreme heat in a non-climate control environment.
• The environment includes exposure to dust and noise.
