Job Description

• Providing PM&R consults at one or more CHI Omaha/Council Bluffs hospitals
• Dual manage inpatients with Hospitalists on the inpatient rehab unit, functioning as the rehabilitation team leader
• No in-house weekend calls (Inpatient Hospitalist coverage on weekends)
• Participation in education and mentorship of CUSOM medical students
• Opportunity for growth to add outpatient clinics in Brain Injury, SCI, Amputation, and Stroke, as well as spasticity management (chemo denervation, ITB pump refills)
• Large primary care, ortho, spine surgery partner base for inpatient and outpatient referrals
• Involvement with community-based brain injury and trauma prevention programs

Qualifications

• American Board Certified or Board Eligible in the specified area of medical specialty
• A valid and unrestricted state medical license or license-eligible

Overview

CHI Health Clinic (CHC) and CHI Immanuel Rehabilitation Institute seek a BC/BE physiatrist with interest in inpatient rehab services for our 35-bed, CARF-accredited inpatient rehab unit. Immanuel Rehabilitation was voted the Best Hospital for Rehabilitation in Nebraska by US News 2021-22. The physician would join two other inpatient physiatrists managing diverse diagnoses and injuries.

Opportunities include voluntary or full faculty appointment at CUSOM and research opportunities at Creighton University Schools of Medicine or Allied Health. The candidate should have strong interpersonal skills such as empathy, problem solving, and listening. The practice emphasizes teamwork and shared responsibilities. The team includes two inpatient physiatrists, one outpatient sports physiatrist, and one nurse practitioner. This position is created for growth and development of our current program.
