Overview of Pain Medicine Physician Position

Our organization is on the lookout for a board-certified Pain Medicine Physician to become part of our established and collaborative practice in Lafayette, IN. This opportunity arises as we prepare for the retirement of a current physician in 2026. The selected candidate will engage in diagnostic and interventional pain management procedures, including epidural steroid injections and radiofrequency ablations, with the assistance of nurse practitioners and a diverse referral network. Position Highlights:

  • Work within a busy and well-established practice, benefiting from a collegial environment with direct support from three Nurse Practitioners and clinic staff in procedural and operating rooms.
  • Enjoy a Monday to Friday schedule with shared on-call duties, described as minimal at 1:5.
  • The retiring physician currently spends three days in the Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) performing fluoroscopic procedures and one day in the office for injections.
  • Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) will oversee medication management and assist with procedure preparations.
  • Engage in minimal chronic opioid management with established pain contracts.
  • Receive referrals from our multi-specialty group, including Neurosurgery, Sports Medicine, and Primary Care.
  • Perform procedures such as epidural steroid injections, medical branch blocks, radiofrequency ablations, sacroiliac joint injections, and hip injections and blocks.
  • Scheduled blocks are available in the Surgery Center for procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a fellowship in Pain Management.
  • Residency training in either Anesthesiology or Physiatry is required.
  • Board eligibility or certification is mandatory.
  • Must hold a medical license in Indiana or be eligible for licensure in the state.
  • Previous experience is preferred.
