This is a Part-Time Position

25 hours per week

Hourly Rate: $18.00

Location: In Person (not remote or hybrid)

SUMMARY: The Medical Billing Clerk will be responsible for accurately and efficiently processing medical claims and invoices. This includes verifying patient information, coding diagnoses and procedures, and submitting claims to insurance companies and government programs. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a thorough understanding of medical billing procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES include but are not limited to the following:

• Verify patient information and insurance coverage
• Code diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10 and CPT codes
• Submit claims to insurance companies and government programs
• Follow up on unpaid claims and denials
• Process patient payments and refunds
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date billing records
• Communicate with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers as needed

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

• 1-2 years of experience in medical billing or related field preferred
• Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10, and CPT coding
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and medical billing software
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

EDUCATION

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Degree or Certification in Medical Billing and Coding preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Requires sitting, standing, and occasional light lifting.
