This role operates and maintains equipment associated with warehouse activity and performs other related duties as required. Control flow of products being received into the warehouse. Responsibilities include conforming to appropriate equipment operation rules and practices to reduce accidents and injuries, guaranteeing that assigned equipment is maintained and clean, reporting repair or service needs to the manager, observing all safety rules, regulations, and sanitation policies, using equipment horns when driving in certain areas to reduce accidents, and plugging equipment into a power source when not in use to ensure availability of fully operational equipment. Qualifications include 2 years of warehouse experience, passing mandatory ergonomics testing, working knowledge of Sysco safety and security policies, ability to disseminate numerical data, managing work time efficiently, following procedures and policies, performing basic mathematical calculations, identifying and solving problems, managing pressures and stress in a deadline-oriented atmosphere, and possessing excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Physical demands include standing, walking, sitting, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, talking, hearing, and regularly lifting/moving up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds.
