Overview:

A leading manufacturer in the medical technology space is seeking a Process Safety Management (PSM) Environmental Engineer to manage risk and environmental compliance programs at its South Carolina facility. This role plays a critical part in ensuring adherence to regulatory and corporate standards, especially concerning high hazard operations.

What You'll Do:

• Lead and oversee PSM programs involving high hazard materials like ionized radiation, flammable substances, and dust.
• Evaluate and support process changes, equipment modifications, and capital projects with a focus on safety and environmental compliance.
• Serve as the site's subject matter expert on OSHA PSM regulations and EPA Risk Management Programs.
• Manage audits, inspections, and compliance reporting for various regulatory bodies.
• Act as a liaison for emergency response teams and corporate safety groups.
• Lead and conduct PHAs/HAZOPs and ensure follow-through on recommendations.
• Stay informed on environmental and safety regulations and support continuous improvement.

What We're Looking For:

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Management, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field.
• 5–7 years of site-level experience in safety or PSM, particularly with hazardous materials.
• Proven leadership in hazard analysis and risk evaluation in manufacturing environments.
• Familiarity with OSHA, EPA, building codes, and environmental permits.
• Professional certification like CSP, CIH, or CHMM is preferred.
• Strong communication, organization, and technical problem-solving skills.

Work Environment Notes:

• This is an on-site role requiring up to 4 days per week in office.
• Steel-toe, non-slip shoes are mandatory on the production floor.
