Hourly rate: $17/HR General Description: Plans, organizes, and conducts a variety of group activities for elementary school children aged 5-10 years old. The Counselor is directly responsible for the safety and wellbeing of the participants at our before and after school EDGE AM and PM Programs. Primary emphasis should be on safety, fun, and individual growth through well-rounded and diversified recreation opportunities. The EDGE Counselor directly reports to the EDGE Coordinator and Recreation Facilities Manager. Requirements:
Must be at least 16 years of age
Experience working with elementary aged children
Ability to lift a minimum of 15lbs
Available Monday-Friday for AM care (6:45am-8:45am) and/or
Available Monday-Friday for PM care (2:45-5:15/5:45pm)
Excellent communication skills
Position Responsibilities:
Participate in onboarding staff orientation and monthly trainings
Lead a variety of daily group activities such as games, sports, crafts, enrichment activities, and board games
Assist the Site Coordinator in planning, organizing and implementing special programs
Supervise and participate in group activities
Be accountable for the whereabouts and safety of all participants at all times
Administer first aid when necessary
Act in a professional manner at all times
Ensure proper use of supplies and equipment during activities
Follow program procedures and policies at all times
Perform other duties as assigned
